We are NOT looking for general laborers. We are looking for those who have a passion for the outdoors to join our award winning team.

Responsibilities:

  • Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day.
  • Direct activities on the job site to include but are not limited to: coordinating workflow, hands on work, and operating a variety of machinery.
  • Understand the “Big Picture” of the project and how you can help ensure the job runs smoothly in an efficient manner according to estimated allotted times
  • Ensures that all safety rules and company safety policies are adhered to and that all crew members utilize all required personal protective equipment
  • Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Use scheduling software to track and record all job expenses, including but not exclusively materials and hours worked
  • Ensure jobs are completed in an efficient manner according to estimated allotted times by communicating production goals with crew members
  • Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards.
  • Perform final “walkarounds” at the end of every job to ensure all line items were taken care of, no tools were left behind, and everything is up to standards
  • Interact with clients in order to help ensure job satisfaction. Build & keep relationships.
  • Monitor all tools, equipment, and machinery for needed maintenance and report to supervisor for proper documentation.
  • Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
  • Work as part of a team and takes direction.
  • Perform highly physical installation work on a consistent basis
  • Strives to improve job skills and develop the potential for upward mobility
  • Trains crew members in the development of industry best practices are company standards
  • Leads by example

Job Duties:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis. Perform “on the fly” repairs if needed.
  • Build outdoor living spaces consisting of walkways, patios, walls, etc.
  • Construct landscape amenities such as firepits, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, garden beds, etc.
  • Install low voltage landscape lighting
  • Dig ditches or trenches and perform other drainage and land clearing activities.
  • Install plants, bushes & trees
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
  • Operate various tools including chainsaw, jackhammer, laser level, measurement equipment, compactors, shovels, hammers, drills, etc. in safe and effective manner.
  • Operate heavy equipment including skid steer, excavator and loader as directed by foreman in a safe and effective manner.
  • Ensure truck & trailer are free of trash and debris at the end of every day and perform a “deep clean” once a week.
  • Perform snow removal during winter months by utilizing a plow, snow blower and snow shovel on commercial properties.
  • Spread salt during winter months on commercial properties.
  • Takes on additional responsibilities to assist team as needed

  • For snow removal: have the flexibility to work around the weather and ability to work long hours preforming snow removal services. Nights, weekends and overtime will be required dependent on the timing of the weather.

Skills:

  • Technically skilled
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written in English)
  • Demonstrates ability to identify various plants
  • Demonstrate competency in specific materials, methods, tools, equipment and techniques required to complete required tasks in safe and responsible manner
  • Demonstrate basic math skills
  • Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to perform work activities
  • Understand grading and layout

Other requirements include:

  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Valid drivers license and clean record
  • MA DOT card or the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to drive truck and trailer combination (preferred)
  • Experience operating skid steers and compact excavators (preferred)
  • MA Hoisting License (preferred)
  • OSHA 10/30 (preferred)
  • Applicants with military experience encouraged to apply

This is a full-time seasonal position. Snow removal services and winter work during the off season. Average work day is 10 hours for approx. 50 hours a week. Time and a half over 40 hours. The occasional Saturday will be required based on weather and other delays. Paid sick/vacation. Paid training and development available. Paid holidays.
